Asian Brown Cloud (ABC) monitoring sites
Commissioning of ABC
monitoring site at the ICIMOD’s Headquarters is on progress. The tower has
been put up and the instrument room is being prepared. The installment of
the radiation instruments to measure the incoming solar radiation will
also be installed soon.

Visitors from Partner Organizations
Dr. Madho Sah and Dr.
George Philip from Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun, India
visited MENRIS as visiting scientist from 13 to 25 February 2005, to
compile the first draft report of the APN GLOF project.
Similarly, Dr. Rajeev Bhagat and Mr. Vaibhav Kalia from
Choudhary Shrawan Kumar Himachal Pradesh
Agricultural University (CSKHPAU) visited
MENRIS from 28 February to 8 March 2005 for finalizing Indicators of
Development of Himachal Pradesh, India and Himachal Agricultural
Information System Files (HASIF) project.
Support to Thesis Student
MENRIS assisted one student from Tribhuvan University for
his thesis work on ‘Wildlife Habitat Analysis in Shivapuri National Park”,
under the Regional Decision Support System - Hindu
Kush Karakoram Himalaya (DSS-HKKH) partnership
programme.
