Meetings / Conferences / Workshops Ba santa Shrestha and Sushil Pandey attended the Nepal Asia Pacific Advanced Network Symposium 2005 from 22 to 23 January.
Pradeep Mool and Samjwal Bajracharya attended the seminar on Geologic Controls of Arsenic Contamination of Groundwater in the Terai Region of Nepal on 25 January in Kathmandu. The seminar is sponsored by the American Embassy Environmental Office for South Asia and the US Geological Survey South Asia Arsenic Project.
Kiran Shakya and Rajan Bajracharya participated in the ICT Conference at the CAN Infotech 2005 organized by Computer Association of Nepal from 26 to 28 January.
Samjwal Bajracharya visited Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun, India from 2 to 15 January 2005 to facilitate in the generation of the database and report on GLOFs affected by global warming in the mountains of HKH region of Uttaranchal Himalaya.
Kiran Shakya and Rajan Bajracharya traveled to New Delhi, India to attend the 8th Annual International Conference on MAP India 2005
Basanta Shrestha and Pradeep Mool traveled to Brussesl from 17 to 18 Febraury to attend the EU International Space Conference on “Winning through cooperation: sharing the benefits of space". During the same visit they attended EARSeL LIS-SIG Workshop in Berne on “Remote Sensing of Snow and Glaciers” from 21 to 23 February.
Basanta Shrestha and Sushil Pradhan visited Ministry of Agriculture, Bhutan from 21 to 24 March for the follow up on the Indicators of Renewable Natural Resources Base project; and to discuss on future collaborations and networks with other agencies in Bhutan

Ms. Cynthia G. Flores and Mr. Indra Saran K.C. from USAID visited MENRIS to discuss on future collaboration with ICIMOD on GIS and Remote Sensing Applications.
Honourable Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Pakistan, Ms. Hina Rabani Khar visited MENRIS on 31 March along with high-level delegations. HMG-Nepal Finance Minister Dr. Madhukar S.J.B. Rana and Mr. Hari P. Regmi also visited MENRIS on the same occasion. The d elegates also visited ICIMOD Demonstration & Training Centre at Godavari and ICIMOD Library in the new headquarters.
